The official Barcelona airport shuttle, known as the Aerobús, typically takes between 25 and 35 minutes to travel from El Prat Airport (BCN) to the city center (Plaça de Catalunya). The journey time is remarkably consistent because the buses have dedicated lanes for much of the route. The Aerobús A1 serves Terminal 1, while the Aerobús A2 serves Terminal 2. Both lines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a very high frequency—buses often depart every 5 to 10 minutes during the day. The route includes strategic stops at Plaça Espanya, Gran Via-Urgell, and Plaça Universitat before reaching the final terminus. If you are traveling during the extreme morning rush hour or on a major public holiday, it is wise to factor in an extra 10–15 minutes for traffic. For a slightly cheaper but slower alternative, the #46 public bus or the Metro Line L9 South can take 45–60 minutes, making the Aerobús the preferred "middle ground" between a budget bus and a premium taxi.
