How long does United Premier Silver status last?

Once you qualify for a Premier status, it is valid from the date you qualified through the end of the following program year. So, it could last more than 12 months. For example, if you qualify for Premier Silver status in June 2023, you'll keep your status through Jan. 31, 2025.

In 2026, United Airlines Premier Silver status typically lasts through January 31 of the second calendar year after it was earned. For example, if you meet the 15 PQF (flights) and 5,000 PQP (points) requirements in June 2026, your status will be active for the remainder of 2026, all of 2027, and finally expire on January 31, 2028. This allows a one-month "grace period" for travelers to finish their January trips before the new status year begins. If you are participating in a Premier Status Match Challenge, the status is temporary—usually lasting about 120 days—unless you meet the specific "accelerated" flight and spend requirements during that window to extend it. For 2026 "status seekers," it is a "pro-tip" to earn your status early in the year to maximize the total duration of benefits like free Economy Plus access at check-in and priority boarding.
