How long is Disney probation?

All new Casual Regular employees who are first employed after the effective date of this Agreement will be considered probationary employees for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days.

For new Cast Members at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2026, the standard probationary period is typically 90 calendar days from the most recent date of hire. During this "introductory period," new employees (other than temporary or seasonal staff) are closely evaluated on their performance, attendance, and adherence to "The Disney Look" and safety standards. If a Cast Member successfully completes these 90 days, they gain "regular" status, which often unlocks full benefits like the "Main Entrance Pass" (free park admission for guests) and eligibility for specific employee discounts. It is important to note that during these first three months, the attendance policy is extremely strict; even a few "points" for being late or calling out can result in the termination of employment. For professional or management roles, the probationary period can sometimes be extended to six months, depending on the specific contract and union agreements (like those with the Service Trades Council Union).
