The Jesus Trail is a 65-kilometer (40-mile) hiking and pilgrimage route in the Galilee region of northern Israel. Established in 2007, the trail traditionally begins in Nazareth and ends at Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, tracing a path that Jesus may have walked during his ministry. For 2026 hikers, the trail is typically completed as a four-day trek, with daily distances ranging from 13 to 19 kilometers (8–12 miles). The route passes through significant historical and religious sites, including Zippori National Park, Cana, the Horns of Hattin, and the Mount of Beatitudes. The trail is marked with orange and white blazes and offers a "slow-travel" alternative to the standard tour bus experience, allowing pilgrims and adventure-seekers to immerse themselves in the rugged, beautiful landscape of the Galilee while visiting ancient ruins and modern villages along a path of deep spiritual and historical significance.
