How long is the Kilimanjaro ride in Animal Kingdom?

Kilimanjaro Safaris is located at the rear of the Africa section in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. The ride lasts 20 minutes, plus or minus. Bonus fact: It's the longest ride in the parks that's not a movie or show.

It is definitely more frightening than Splash or Thunder. As previously mentioned, it has a backwards section that is quite scary and there is a bit where you feel like you are going upside down (you actually don't) and there is also a bit where the yeti makes an appearance which could scare a 5 year old.

If you are the kind of person who enjoys the park atmosphere between the rides, Animal Kingdom is incredibly immersive. If you're checking off rides and shows and your mind is in other parks you want to get to, Animal Kingdom can be a half day.

While Disney has found ways to extend the fun into the afternoon and evening hours, most of the animals viewed here are far more active, and therefore visible, in the morning. I strongly recommend you arrive at the park at opening time, or as soon afterwards as possible, to maximize your visit.

As you can tell, most animals appear on both sides of the truck. However, all of the best animals (cheetahs, lions, hyenas and painted dogs) appear only on the left side. I recommend asking the attraction attendant if you can ride toward the front, and on the side that you choose.
