How long should I spend in Victoria Falls?

Most hotels in Victoria Falls are booked on a bed-and-breakfast basis. We would recommend a minimum stay of two nights and an ideal stay of three nights. If you want to experience everything this location has to offer and take part in various activities, you may even want to stay four nights or longer.

To fully experience Victoria Falls, located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, the ideal duration is 2 to 3 days. One full day should be dedicated to viewing the falls themselves from both the Zimbabwean side (which offers the most iconic "curtain" views) and the Zambian side (which allows you to get closer to the water and visit Livingstone Island). A second day is perfect for the "adventure" aspect of the falls, such as the famous Devil’s Pool swim, a helicopter "Flight of Angels" for a panoramic perspective, or white-water rafting on the Zambezi River. If you have a third day, a sunset river cruise is a highly recommended way to see hippos and elephants in their natural habitat. Travelers often combine a 3-day stay at the falls with a safari in the nearby Chobe National Park in Botswana. Spending less than two days often feels rushed, as you miss the chance to see the falls from different angles and experience the unique cultural atmosphere of the surrounding towns.
