Disneyland temporarily closes Space Mountain for refurbishment. Disneyland has closed Space Mountain just as the Halloween season kicks off at the “Happiest Place on Earth.” The popular Tomorrowland indoor roller coaster will be closed until Oct.
The Details. According to Disneyland, the attraction will remain closed through October 26, 2023, and reopen October 27, 2023. In past Halloween seasons, the park added a “Ghost Galaxy” holiday overlay, which added video projections of spinning nebulas and a fiery space demon to the pitch black indoor coaster.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland park will be closed for a refurbishment beginning on April 3, 2023. The Disneyland calendar currently only goes through April 3, so a reopening date for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is not yet available. It will likely be a relatively basic refurbishment.
While the near darkness, out of this world theming and a few unforeseen drops may have you feeling as though you're traveling at the speed of light, Space Mountain is one of the slowest coasters in the Magic Kingdom.
Figment's meet & greet has made its triumphant return to Walt Disney World, with the character now greeting guests daily inside the Journey into Imagination pavilion.
