How many days do I need for London and Paris?

IMHO start in London. Stay 3 days, 4 days tops, and plan side trips out of the City (if you don't find time for them, great, but have them planned just in case you find London a little underwhelming, which some people do). In Paris, stay at least 3-5 days and plan some half-day trips.
