It's best to spend at least 3 days to a week at the Redwood National and State Parks. Spending a few days in the redwoods lets you immerse yourself amidst the majestic redwood forests. The giant trees are more impressive in Sequoia but it's super touristy imo. If you want to go for long hikes then Sequoia is better. Redwoods are impressive, but really only grow in small groves. If you want short hikes and a foggy beach then Redwoods is great.
