To see the highlights of Poland in 2026, a trip of 10 to 14 days is ideal. A 10-day itinerary allows you to spend 3 days in Warsaw (the capital, rich in history and museums), 3 days in Krakow (to see the Wawel Castle, Old Town, and nearby Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine), and 2–3 days in Gdansk on the Baltic coast (famous for its maritime history and the nearby Malbork Castle). If you have 14 days, you can add "off-the-beaten-path" gems like the medieval town of Toruń (the birthplace of Copernicus), the wooden architecture of Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains for hiking, or the stunning lakes of the Masurian District. Poland has an excellent and affordable rail system, making it easy to hop between these major hubs. While you could "do" just Krakow and Warsaw in 5–6 days, you would miss the incredible geographical and cultural diversity that makes Poland a top-tier European destination in the mid-2020s.
