How many days should I spend in Disney California?

Although a 3-day ticket may be our most popular, it's not the one we recommend the most. So when you ask "How many days do I need at Disneyland?" Our answer for the best experience is to purchase the longest length of stay possible. And that's a 5-day Disneyland ticket.

To fully experience the Disneyland Resort in 2026, three to four days is the ideal duration. This allows for two full days at Disneyland Park (to cover Galaxy's Edge, Fantasyland, and the 70th Anniversary festivities) and one to two days at Disney California Adventure (to explore Avengers Campus and the 25th Anniversary events). A 3-day Park Hopper ticket is the most common choice, as it provides the flexibility to "hop" between parks after 11:00 AM. In 2026, with the introduction of Bluey live entertainment and the expansion of the Star Wars timeline in Batuu, the parks are denser than ever. Spending at least three days ensures you aren't rushing and can utilize the Lightning Lane Multi Pass effectively. If you're a "completionist" or visiting during a festival like Food & Wine, a 4th day allows for a more relaxed pace and time for hotel character dining.

The ideal number of days for Disneyland Resort in California depends on your priorities, budget, and travel style. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide:

Quick Guide

Disneyland is great for kids over the age of 7. So if you have 4 kids, 2 of which are under 7, you may have to watch which rides you can do. For my family, this meant that my oldest two (ages 9 and 10) could ride rides together while an adult rode with the younger kids (ages 2, 4, and 6).
