How many lightning lanes per ride per day?

Individual Lightning Lane passes are limited and can run out throughout the day, especially if a ride is very popular. And no matter how many theme parks you visit, you can only purchase two Individual Lightning Lane passes per day.

Under the 2026 Disney Parks "Lightning Lane" system, a guest is permitted to use the Lightning Lane for any specific attraction only once per day. This applies across all three service tiers: Multi Pass, Single Pass, and the high-end Premier Pass. For example, if you ride Space Mountain using a Multi Pass selection in the morning, you cannot book it again for the afternoon on the same day, even if there is availability. This rule is designed to prevent a small number of guests from monopolizing the capacity of popular rides. If you wish to ride the same attraction a second time, you must join the standard standby line or, if applicable, the Virtual Queue. The only exception to this "one-entry" rule is if an attraction breaks down during your return window; in such cases, Disney typically issues a "Multi-Experience" pass that can be used later, though it still generally counts as your primary "use" of that specific ride's Lightning Lane for that calendar day.

The Genie 120-minute rule says that you can make a new reservation at most 2 hours from when you made the last one, and this countdown timer doesn't change if you modify the reservation. If you made it at, say, 11 a.m., then your two hours will be up at 1 p.m. even if you modify the reservation at noon.

MORE DETAILS

The 120-minute rule is determined by when you make the reservation, not the return time for the attraction. So if you both log on at 9 AM to make a reservation for different attractions, you will both have to wait 120 minutes (or after riding the attraction, whichever comes first) to make your next selections.
