How many miles does the average person walk in Disney?

According to friends, family, and personal experience, we walk at least 10-12 miles on an average day visiting the parks.

Pace yourself and spread out the long days in the parks. A week at Disney is going to give you days of walking well over that 10,000 step count we are supposed to get. Most days will give you well over 15,000 or even 20,000.

We really like to peruse the World Showcase and wander at a slow pace. A full day, or eight hours, will allow you to take in most of the most popular attractions and experiences here. If your itinerary allows, I would recommend splitting this up into a few different visits.

As you can see, Magic Kingdom covers the smallest area of land. However, in terms of sidewalks, Hollywood Studios wins out with the fewest miles of the total walkways. Based on our calculations, Hollywood Studios requires the LEAST amount of walking, and Epcot requires the MOST amount of walking.

I'd recommend training to hit at least 10,000 steps per day two weeks prior to stepping foot in the parks, but would push for 12,000-15,000 during a couple of days during those weeks.

While of course you would need to pay for shopping or dining, you can walk around the area with no admissions charge. There is also often entertainment happening for free outside. Disney Springs is along a lovely waterfront that you can take in and enjoy.
