As of February 2026, the refund amount depends heavily on the timing and fare type. Under new DGCA regulations issued in early 2026, passengers can cancel or amend tickets within a 48-hour "look-in" window for a full refund without extra fees, provided the flight is at least 7 days (domestic) or 15 days (international) away. Outside this window, for non-refundable tickets, you generally only receive a refund for the government and airport taxes, while the base fare and fuel surcharges are forfeited or converted to a credit shell. Fully refundable fares allow for a near-total refund minus a small administrative fee. If a flight is canceled by the airline, or if a significant delay occurs (typically over 3–6 hours), you are entitled to a 100% refund of the total amount paid, including all fees, regardless of your initial ticket type.
