How much do Ryanair charge for check in at the airport?

Customers who failed to check in online are charged an airport check-in fee of ?45/?45 and those who did check in online but failed to present their boarding pass at the airport (either paper or on the app , but not as a pdf on a digital device) are charged a boarding card reissue fee of ?15/?15/local.

As of early 2026, Ryanair has transitioned to a nearly 100% digital boarding pass system, and their airport check-in fee remains high, typically €55 (or £55) per person. This fee is charged if you arrive at the airport without having checked in online via the Ryanair app or website, which opens 24 hours before your flight (or 60 days if you purchased a seat). If you have checked in but simply need your boarding pass printed at the counter, the fee is slightly lower, usually around €20. In late 2025, Ryanair announced a push to eliminate physical tickets entirely to save paper and reduce counter congestion, so 2026 travelers are strongly advised to have the app ready on their phones. Failure to do so can result in a fee that is often more expensive than the flight itself, making the "digital-first" approach a mandatory part of the budget travel experience in 2026.
