The "Chunnel" (operated by Getlink, formerly Eurotunnel) remains a highly profitable piece of infrastructure. In the 2025 fiscal year, Getlink reported a total group revenue of approximately €1.6 billion ($1.73 billion USD). This revenue is split between three primary segments: Eurotunnel Shuttle Services (transporting cars and trucks), which accounts for roughly €738 million; the Railway Network (fees paid by Eurostar and freight trains), contributing about €411 million; and Eleclink (the electricity interconnector), which generated around €225 million. Despite challenges in the cross-channel freight market, the passenger shuttle business has seen a 4% increase in revenue due to higher market share and improved service quality. In 2026, the company is focused on its "Eurotunnel 2030" strategy, aiming to increase revenue through the introduction of new high-speed rail operators competing with Eurostar, which is expected to further boost the "Railway Network" income stream in the coming decade.
