Transferring between terminals at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) can be a time-consuming process because Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are geographically separated and not connected by an airside air-train. For a transfer between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, you can walk via a designated pathway in about 5 to 10 minutes or use a golf-cart buggy service. However, if you need to transfer to or from Terminal 1, you must travel approximately 7–8 kilometers by road. The airport provides a free inter-terminal shuttle bus for passengers with a connecting boarding pass, which runs every 20 minutes; however, the actual drive can take 20 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Including time for deplaning, baggage claim (if not checked through), security re-screening, and potential queues, you should allow a minimum of 3 hours for a domestic-to-domestic transfer involving a terminal change, and at least 4 hours if transferring between an international and a domestic flight.
