At a Glance: To renew your TSA PreCheck, it's recommended to apply six months before it expires. Visit the official TSA PreCheck website, complete the renewal form, pay the $85 renewal fee, and await confirmation. You may be required to schedule an in-person interview.
Once you complete enrollment and are deemed eligible for the program, wait three to five days for a Known Traveler Number. However, keep in mind that it can take up to 60 days to be approved in some cases. After approval, return to the TSA PreCheck website and click the Check My Service Status link to find your KTN.

You can't upgrade from TSA PreCheck to Global EntryEven if you already have TSA PreCheck, you must apply for Global Entry separately. There is no way to get an automatic upgrade from TSA PreCheck to Global Entry. You must complete the Global Entry application documents and then make an interview appointment.

You'll know your membership is active if the website displays your current status, expiration date and KTN (if applicable).
If the identifying information on your application is incorrect or incomplete, then it may be denied. By the same token, there are situations when membership can also be suspended if you no longer meet eligibility requirements.
