Since making its maiden flight in 2016, Amazon Air has been on a rapid growth trajectory, having grown to 42 airplanes by May 2020 and announcing plans to have at least 70 airplanes by 2021. In just three years, it has become a major component of Amazon's overnight and two-day delivery business.
