Fury 325 at Carowinds is exactly 325 feet (99 meters) tall, making it one of the tallest "giga-coasters" in the world. Its height is a central part of its name and its thrill factor; it begins with a massive, 81-degree drop that plunges riders 320 feet toward the ground. Because of its extreme height and proximity to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the park had to receive special clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to build the structure. The ride reaches speeds of up to 95 mph, using its massive height to maintain incredible momentum over 6,602 feet of track. As of 2026, it remains the fourth-tallest roller coaster globally and the tallest overall that utilizes a traditional chain lift hill.
