How to get priority boarding Lufthansa?

We have reintroduced priority boarding on continental flights for HON Circle Members, Senators, Business Class travellers and Star Gold customers. As a priority passenger, you once again have the opportunity to board after pre-boarding, with the start of boarding groups 1 and 2.

Securing priority boarding with Lufthansa in 2026 is primarily determined by your "High-Fidelity" cabin class or your frequent flyer status within the Miles & More and Star Alliance networks. Passengers traveling in First Class or Business Class are automatically assigned to Boarding Groups 1 and 2, granting them the earliest access to the aircraft. Additionally, elite members—specifically HON Circle, Senators, and Star Alliance Gold cardholders—receive priority boarding regardless of which cabin they are flying in. For those in Economy, purchasing a "Flex" fare often includes priority boarding as a standard benefit. If you do not have status or a premium ticket, you can sometimes purchase "Priority Boarding" as a standalone add-on during the online check-in process, though availability is limited to ensure the "High-Fidelity" experience for premium guests isn't diluted. Using the "Quick Boarding" gates at hubs like Frankfurt and Munich also provides a faster, automated boarding experience for those in the priority groups, making the transition from lounge to seat as seamless as possible.
