In 2026, you can no longer travel with the original 9-Euro-Ticket, as it was a limited-time experimental offer in Germany during the summer of 2022. It has been replaced by the permanent Deutschlandticket (D-Ticket). While the name "9-Euro-Ticket" is still used colloquially by some, the 2026 price for this nationwide monthly subscription is €63 (increased from the previous €49). To use it, you must purchase a digital subscription via the DB Navigator app or a local transport provider. It remains valid for unlimited travel on all local and regional transport (buses, trams, U-Bahns, S-Bahns, and Regional Express trains) across Germany. It is still strictly prohibited on long-distance high-speed trains like the ICE, IC, or EC, which require separate, specific tickets.
