Visitor Oyster cards you pay an activation fee (£5 in 2023) which is non-refundable. If you buy a standard Oyster card in London or online after 4 September 2022 you now have to pay £7 for the card. This is not a credit to be used against travel, it's the cost of the card now.
60+ London Oyster photocardThis photocard gives those aged 60 or over living in a London borough: free travel on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail (excluding between West Drayton and Reading) and most National Rail services in London.
A parent or guardian must apply for a 16+ Zip Oyster photocard if their child is under 18. If you're 18, you must apply for your 16+ Zip Oyster photocard and create your own photocard web account. When you apply, you agree that you or the Zip Oyster photocard holder will comply with our Young Person's Behaviour Code.

Children between 11 and 15 years old travel for free on tube, DLR and London overground at a reduced rate, provided they have a badge with Oyster Zip 11-15 photo.
Every time you make a journey on London's public transport your Oyster card is charged a fare. Once you reach the daily cap (see above) in a day no more fares are deducted from your Oyster card.
