Is 3 days too short for New York?

Three days in New York City might not be enough to see the entirety of the city – after all, it is enormous – but those 3 days would be just enough to see a lot of its most popular attractions.

New York is an exciting city, with lots to see and do, but you can get a lot of enjoyment out of a 4-day New York itinerary. Sure, you won't see and do everything there is to see and do in New York –but it's an expensive city and we don't all have a huge amount of time and money to spend.

You could walk the 3.4km around York city walls in an hour or so. But, take in sights and the occasional pub en-route, and that hour could easily stretch into a day – and night. Yes, the walls even have in-built coffee shops. This one's The Perky Peacock under Lendal Bridge.

The answer is yes, you will find some good food in that price range, you won't starve. Allowing maybe $100 per person per day will get you a nice dinner every night and an occasional sit down lunch too. Adding more to the budget means you can maybe go to a 5 star dinner for a splurge one night too.
