Is a 3 dollar tip fine?

Is a 3 dollar tip fine? A shampoo person, food/grocery loaders, a barber (if he/she charges under $20), or a parking valet, maid service at hotels, buffet restaurant servers, Uber drivers—I think $2 would be considered a 'good' tip. Anywhere from $2–$3 for someone providing these services I think is a pretty darn good tip!

What is a bad tip?

I worked as a server to pay my bills during my brief art school stint. It was there I got an inside look at the dark underbelly of the US's tipping culture. Industry insider: common consensus says 15-20% is considered a normal tip, but honestly any amount less than 20% is considered a bad tip.

What is a good tip in dollars?

15% is appropriate for average service ; 20% if your server is above average. You should feel free to tip above 20% if you received excellent service. If you received poor service, it is better to talk to the manager than skip on the tip.
