Is a 60L backpack big enough for travelling?

As far as a pack goes, I would try to stay in the 50-55 L range in packs. 60 liters is a lot of space, which means you might pack extra stuff (and extra weight) simply because you have the space to do so. I travel carry on only - about a 35l pack - have done for years.
