Such recorders are fitted with locator beacons. These broadcast their location for up to 30 days, even when submerged as deep as 6,000 meters (20,000 ft) underwater, which increases their chance of being found.

Find tracked flights or turn emails off
  1. Go to Google Flights.
  2. In the top left, tap Menu. Tracked flight prices. To find flights you're tracking, tap a saved route. To turn tracking emails on or off, tap Add notification .
  3. Optional: To stop tracking a route or flight, tap Remove .
