Slim, ergonomic seat designSliding seat cushions and slim, ergonomic seat designs give you ample space. Enjoy a more comfortable trip on the 46-cm wide seat with an 84-cm space between rows and a backrest that reclines to 118 degrees.
While the A340 was restricted by its efficiency, the A330 was a jack-of-all-trades for airlines. With a long-range and long fuselage, the aircraft could comfortably seat 300 passengers (in a two or three-class layout). Additionally, airlines could use denser configurations for shorter but busier corridors.
My conclusion on the A330 is that, it is a very safe airplane but because of its wing design, any turbulence tends to be more pronounced than, for instance, on a Boeing 777.
American Airlines retired its young fleet of Airbus A330s at the beginning of the pandemic. Since then, the airline has never stated any intention of bringing back the aircraft type.
Airbus' largest A330s are on par with Boeing's smallest 777s. In other words, the Boeing 777 targets a higher capacity than the A330. Measuring over 10 meters longer than the A330-300 and the 777-200, the 777-300 seats a significantly higher number of passengers.
The Airbus A330-200 is the largest aircraft we offer. It is a modern, efficient and reliable aircraft and can fly for more than 14 hours non-stop, making it ideal for ultra-long-range operations.
However, the new Upper Class seats on the A330-900 and A350 are simply fantastic and hands down my favorite way to cross the Atlantic. You can easily see which plane is flying your route by clicking the “Details” button when you search for flights on the Virgin Atlantic website.
