We recommend a good level of fitness for both our Annapurna Sanctuary trek and our Everest Base Camp trek. Generally speaking you'll be trekking for 10 – 12 Km's (6 to 7.5 miles) a day, so it's a good idea to start training in the hills around your home well before setting out to Nepal.

The best months to trek to Annapurna base camp are pre-monsoon are February, March, April and May. If you are set on trekking post monsoon, we high recommend trekking in late September, October, November and December, furthermore early September is also an option but we prefer the months listed above.

Some degree of altitude sickness is common on a high-altitude trek like the Everest Base Camp trek. So yes, your body doesn't function as normal when you go into a high area where it must manage with less oxygen. Very importantly, you need to give it adequate time to adapt to the reduced oxygen intake.
