Is Angel Falls a natural wonder?

The name Angel Falls was given by a Venezuelan in honor of Jimmie Angel, an American aviator who discovered this waterfall in 1937 when he flew over it with his small plane. This waterfall was one of the 28 finalists in the choice of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Yes, Angel Falls (Salto Ángel) in Venezuela is universally recognized as one of the world's most spectacular natural wonders. Plunging from the summit of the Auyán-tepui mountain in Canaima National Park, it holds the record for the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on Earth, with a height of 979 meters (3,212 feet) and a clear drop of 807 meters (2,648 feet). It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was a top finalist in the "New7Wonders of Nature" campaign. The falls are so tall that during the dry season, much of the water evaporates into a fine mist before it even reaches the ground. Because it is located in an isolated jungle region with no road access, it remains a pristine and awe-inspiring example of the Earth's raw geological power. Its status as a natural wonder is solidified by its unique "tepui" (table-top mountain) geography, which creates an "island in the clouds" ecosystem that is found nowhere else on the planet.
