Peak SeasonsJanuary through April is often just referred to as “season” by many locals. These months typically have the highest rate of visitors we see in Florida. Much of that is people visiting our beaches and resorts. Some are seasonal residents that spend their cold weather months here.
Most of the year, Anna Maria Island is hot and visitors can expect some degree of humidity. The best time to visit is January – March or in October because it's cooler on Anna Maria Island around then. These times of the year are also the quietest if you are looking for uncrowded beaches!
Spring is an incredibly pleasant time for the weather in Anna Maria Island. During the summer months of March, April, and May, high temperatures range around 80 degrees, though that number can be higher towards the end of May.As for lows, expect temperatures throughout the 60s.
With white-sand beaches, beautiful blue water, swaying sea oats, and incredible sunrises and sunsets, Florida's Anna Maria Island is one of the most scenic destinations in the state. Add to that the salt air and a plethora of waterfront restaurants serving up fresh seafood and you have a feast for all the senses.
The Gulf waters are usually warm, making for a lovely swimming experience. However, there are a couple of exceptions. The first is Bean Point, located at the extreme northern end of the island, where strong currents can make swimming dangerous.

Anna Maria is more downscale -- relaxed -- ramshackle. Lots of funky older cottages and places to stay, family style restaurants, souvenier shopping. Although it does have at least one really good restaurant (Beach Bistro). Sanibel is more high scale (and of course a lot more expensive to go with it).
The city of Anna Maria has a strict noise ordinance. Quiet time is in effect from 10pm-8am and is strictly enforced by local law enforcement, which will result in a fine from the city.
Probably the quietest of all the beaches, Bean Point got its name from the first resident that inhabited Anna Maria, Mr. George Emerson Bean. Bean Point offers a unique vantage point of Tampa Bay off the northern tip of the island. You can actually see where the Gulf meets the Bay from this spot.
