Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom is considered one of the more intense "simulator" attractions, but its intensity comes more from sensory immersion than physical "G-forces." The ride uses a unique vehicle that you straddle like a motorcycle, and it uses 3D glasses and a massive projection screen to simulate flying on the back of a Banshee. While there are no actual drops or loops—the floor doesn't even move more than a few feet—the visual cues are so convincing that your brain "feels" the sensation of plunging down waterfalls and banking sharply through canyons. For many, the most intense part is the realism; the seat even "breathes" between your legs to mimic the animal's lungs. However, this high level of immersion makes it very prone to causing motion sickness. If you are sensitive to screen-based movement (like Star Tours or Soarin'), you may find this ride quite challenging. Those with claustrophobia might also feel uneasy due to the back and leg restraints that lock you firmly onto the vehicle. Despite the intensity, most guests find it exhilarating rather than scary, as it lacks the stomach-churning drops of a traditional roller coaster, but it remains a "must-caution" for anyone who suffers from vertigo or nausea.
