As of 2026, Etihad Airways continues to provide full-sized fleece blankets for all passengers in Economy Class on its long-haul and medium-haul flights. These blankets are typically placed on the seat before boarding or distributed shortly after takeoff to ensure passenger comfort during the journey. On many long-haul routes, Etihad also provides a unique pillow that can be converted into a neck pillow, as well as a blanket bag that can be reused by the traveler. While many airlines have scaled back on "soft" amenities to save on weight and costs, Etihad maintains these provisions as part of its "Economy Smart" experience, aimed at providing a higher standard of comfort than traditional budget carriers. For shorter regional flights, blankets may only be available upon request and are subject to availability. Passengers traveling in the winter or on overnight flights can generally rely on these amenities being readily available to help manage the cooler cabin temperatures typical of high-altitude travel.
