Is Blue Lagoon strict on time?

Your entrance fee covers the entire day at the Blue Lagoon, so you can stay as long as you like within their opening hours, which you can find on the Blue Lagoon website. You will choose an arrival time when you purchase your tickets, and you need to arrive within one hour of that time.

How long should I plan for the Blue Lagoon? Depending on whether or not you want to dine at the Blue Lagoon and how many spa treatments you want to experience, you should stay for between two and four hours. There is actually a luxurious hotel onsite too, so it is possible to stay overnight to truly indulge.

Visiting early in the morning between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM or in the evening between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM when it's quieter is a great way to avoid crowds and fully appreciate the natural beauty of the lagoon. Do you shower after the Blue Lagoon? Yes, you should shower before and after your stay at the lagoon. Guests are required to shower, without their swimsuit, prior to using the geothermal spa. Simply use the showers and soaps available in the changing rooms.

In the Blue Lagoon you will be advised to wash your hair. If you wash your hair before going into the thermal bath, your hair will have less silicia, which makes your hair dry. If you let your hair get wet in the Blue Lagoon, than put on conditioner in your hair.

Luggage storage is especially convenient for guests visiting Blue Lagoon on their way to or from the airport. Also note that if you have a normal backpack or a light bag, you can probably fit it in your changing room locker, which is 35x45 cm/14x18 inches.

Many guests prefer to use flip-flops while walking in and around the water. If you would like to wear flip-flops, you may bring them with you or purchase them at the Blue Lagoon reception desk. Water shoes are allowed, but we don't offer them for sale.

Time of the Day During the day, the Blue Lagoon fills up, and the busiest times are between 11 AM and 3 PM. Visiting the Blue Lagoon later in the evening is not a bad idea either. The only downside is that you won't have that much time for your relaxation because of the closing time.

If you don't want to swim in the Blue Lagoon or you missed out on the time slot you want. You do not need to go inside the Blue Lagoon to see the milky blue waters.

Or you Just want to get out of the pool to eat at the restaurant, you can leave for a few hours and go back. Helpful? No once you leave you have to turn in your bracelet so you would not have access to return. You can swim in there as long as you want once you do get in which is nice.

Make sure you go for a wander too, there are hot spots around the lagoon where the water will be much warmer than other parts which is just what you want in a storm. The fun doesn't end in the lagoon either, for further sheltering from the storm I recommend The Lava Restaurant.

How warm is the Blue Lagoon? The water in the Blue Lagoon is heated to around 37-40 degrees Celsius (98-104 F).

You can visit the Blue Lagoon and most of Iceland's more accessible hot springs year-round. That said, the best time to visit the Blue Lagoon is during May and September when the temperatures are still warm but it's a bit quieter.

Save yourself a lot of time in line and plan your Lagoon Day for a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Lagoon has no Fastpass or Skip-the-Line options, so it pays to arrive early and pick days with lighter crowds if you don't want to wait long for Cannibal and other popular rides.
