The A249 Grovehurst Road Junction Northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed until December 2023. The A249 Northbound mainline will then open with the lane 1 closure remaining in place until winter 2024.
The improvements constructed by Jackson Civil Engineering to the A249/Grovehurst Road include: replacing the existing junction with a two-bridge flyover. removing the current roundabouts and constructing an additional bridge to create a loop over the A249.
The improvements include altering the slip and approach roads to the junction, service diversions, changing traffic signals, lighting, and major earthwork operations. This will increase capacity on the road network and provide the infrastructure needed for the proposed housing plans in Swale.
