Is British Airways status worth it?

Someone who only travels in business class does not need airline status. Lounge access, priority boarding, seat selection, extra baggage allowance? It comes with your ticket. A Gold card might you get a better lounge or (with BA) free seat selection or access to Row 1 on short haul but nothing truly substantial.
