Since the islands sit further south than the Canary Islands, temperatures are even hotter. Yet, just like all islands, there is a rainy season and for Cape Verde, this is in April. If wall-to-wall sunshine is what you are after, then the best time to visit the islands is between June and November.
The weather on Cape Verde and the Canary Islands is fairly similar. Temperatures are nice all year round. Ofcourse in summer it is warmer than in winter. In Cape Verde temperatures – partly due to the closer location near the equator – are slightly higher than on the Canary Islands.
Both islands are very much the same, however I would say Boa Vista a lot less developed. I first visited Sal in 2007 and again in 2016 and it hasn't changed and I'd say will be the same story with both islands in another 10 years. We did island tours on both islands and much more enjoyed Sal on the whole.
