As previous poster said, The Square is probably as busy as you will find in one area (presuming you are in Costa Teguise). I got back early this morning from Costa Teguise and the short answer is, yes, it is a bit windy and as the previous reviewer has confirmed it is a wind-surfing resort.

And if you wonder which is the warmest side of Lanzarote, the answer is always south. Head to the southern part of the island for warmer weather as coasts are sheltered from the winds. Contrarily, the northern part of Lanzarote is usually a bit colder and cloudier due to the trade winds.
