Accommodating Guests with DisabilitiesAs part of this commitment, Disability Access Service (DAS) is a program offered at Walt Disney World theme parks to assist Guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability.
Guests with disabilities that make extended attraction wait times difficult may register for Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS registration is done by interviewing with a Cast Member at any of the various Guest Relations locations located throughout the theme parks.
Luckily, since you have diabetes, you get priority boarding, at no extra cost! All you have to do is notify the gate agent that you have diabetes, and they'll let you board early.
Guests with any physical or mental condition that affects their ability to wait in a standard attraction line for an extended period may qualify for a DAS Pass. There is a broad range of disabilities that may be eligible for DAS.
While there is no specific list of what disabilities qualify for DAS at Disney World, some common conditions that may be approved for a DAS Pass include ADHD, autism, or anxiety.
In terms of what to say to get a DAS pass, start by explaining why waiting in extended queues would be difficult for you. For example: “I experience ___________ which makes tolerating long lines difficult.” “When I'm in line for a long period of time, ___________ happens.”
“The cast member was so rude and condescending and denied me the DAS,” the Guest recalled. “So, I went in February, ended up passing out in line to Soarin' and was just generally miserable while standing and waiting in lines because I was afraid I'd pass out again.”
Cast Members will not ask for proof of a disability, but will inquire about the type of accommodations you are requesting because of your disability or condition. The person with the disability must be present to obtain the pass and will have their picture taken.
Registration ProcessThere are 2 ways for eligible Guests to register for the DAS program—pre-arrival via live video chat or in person at Guest Relations during a park visit. Cast Members will work with Guests individually to discuss specific requests and offer assistance.
When registering for DAS, you will be able to indicate which other Guests you will be visiting the Theme Parks with. The DAS Guest can then include up to five of these other Guests on each return time selection.
