OCTOBER 1, 2021 - APRIL 1, 2023 Fifty years ago, the Walt Disney World Resort, born of impossible dreams, opened its gates. And beginning October 1, 2021, the magic is calling everyone to The World's Most Magical Celebration – the 50th Anniversary at Walt Disney World Resort.

Fab 50 Statues. The new statues were installed at all four Walt Disney World theme parks in the late summer and early fall of 2021 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom. As the World's Most Magical Celebration wrapped, Disney confirmed they had no plans to remove the statues.

Disney World's Gold Character Statues Are Here to Stay. As part of Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration, 50 gold statues of different Disney characters were placed around all four Disney Parks, and they even feature an interactive element that works with the MagicBand+.

In 2023, The Walt Disney Company kicks off “100 Years of Wonder,” sometimes also called “Disney100.” The year-long event honors the centennial anniversary of the date brothers Walt and Roy Disney founded the company in 1923. Disneyland Resort in California serves as headquarters for the party.
