Is Disney strict with reservations?

Unfortunately, this is not the case for every Guest, as Disney is fairly strict with its reservation system. We recently wrote about some international Guests who were turned away as a result of Disney's reservation system. Disney Park Guests are no longer allowed to walk up to the entrance gate and purchase tickets.

The Genie 120-minute rule says that you can make a new reservation at most 2 hours from when you made the last one, and this countdown timer doesn't change if you modify the reservation. The answer is the MagicBand! Your resort reservations are linked to your MagicBands through your My Disney Experience account, and, during Extra Magic Hours, you must scan your MagicBand to enter the park early. Or, during evening Extra Magic Hours, you must scan your MagicBand at any rides or attractions.

Go Early If you want to avoid long lines there's no simpler way than to wake up early and get to the park before it opens. Whether you have access to early entry or not, being at the park entrance before it opens will save you lots of time. Usually, you can get in 2-3 rides during the first hour of park operation.
