Is Disney taking down Tower of Terror?

The Resort's version of Tower of Terror will be closing on July 1, 2023, for a refurbishment.

As of early 2026, there is no official confirmation from Disney that the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios in Florida or at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris is being "taken down." While the version at Disney California Adventure was rethemed to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! in 2017, the other locations remain iconic anchors of their respective parks. However, speculation persists among fans because the ride is based on a third-party intellectual property (The Twilight Zone) for which Disney pays licensing fees. While Disney has confirmed the closure of other attractions for 2026 (like parts of Dinoland U.S.A.), the Tower of Terror remains a high-priority "visual anchor." In fact, recent 2026 updates in Paris show Disney investing in the surrounding area with new gardens and shopping, suggesting the tower is staying put for the foreseeable future.
