Is Disney Very Merry Christmas party worth it?

Is the Christmas Party Worth it? If you are looking for something extra to do, or something special to add on to your vacation, Mickey's Very Merry Party definitely fits into the category of things we think are worth the extra expense if your group: What is this?

Whether Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) is "worth it" in 2026 depends on your love for seasonal atmosphere versus the cost of a "hard-ticket" event. This after-hours party at the Magic Kingdom requires a separate ticket—often ranging from $160 to $210 per person—and features exclusive entertainment such as "Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade," "Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks," and the "A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" show. The "pros" include significantly shorter wait times for popular attractions like Space Mountain and Tron Lightcycle / Run, along with unlimited complimentary cookies and cocoa at various stations. For many, the "snow" on Main Street and the rare character meet-and-greets make it a core memory. However, for a family of four, the event can easily exceed $800, which is a steep price for five hours of park time. If you prioritize "exclusive" photos and holiday vibes over riding every attraction, it is a spectacular experience; however, if you are on a budget, you can see similar holiday decor during regular park hours for a fraction of the cost, minus the specific parade and fireworks.

As such, we've been advising those who want lower crowds–or who have Park Hopper tickets–to start their day in Magic Kingdom on evenings when Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is held. Typically, you can accomplish more in fewer hours because the crowds are lower.

Disney's official policy is that it does not offer refunds for rain. What is this? The show must go on, and even when it is rainy, Disney World is open. Now, of course if Disney does happen to close for a weather event (like a hurricane) they will issue refunds then.
