Is Disneyland a lot of walking?

An average day at Disneyland Resort means you are walking between 6-10 miles. However, we have certainly had days where we have clocked in 12-13 miles. But of course, the amount of time you are in the park, and whether or not you have a park hopper ticket will impact the total distance you have to walk each day.

Visiting Disneyland or Walt Disney World is an incredibly active experience that involves a significant amount of walking. On average, a typical guest can easily log between 7 to 12 miles per day, which often equates to 15,000 to 25,000 steps. Because the parks are designed with "hubs" and "spokes," navigating between different themed lands, standing in long queues, and walking to and from transportation hubs or parking lots adds up quickly. For many visitors, this is far more physical activity than they perform in their daily lives, which is why comfortable, broken-in footwear is considered the most essential item to pack. To mitigate exhaustion, many families plan for midday breaks at their hotels or prioritize sitting for longer periods during shows and parades. Even with the use of strollers or mobility aids, the sheer scale of the resorts ensures that you will be constantly on the move throughout your vacation.
