While crowd levels can vary greatly throughout October, Halloween festivities and the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival remain as constants all month long. If you can find the perfect part of the month—with low crowds—for your trip, you just might discover the best time of the year to visit WDW.

Epcot is a much better experience Mondays through Thursdays. Saturday and Sunday should be avoided if at all possible. Animal Kingdom will always be your best option for lower-crowd evenings during the fall. Disney's Hollywood Studios also has normal crowd dynamics in October.

January, February, August, and September (excluding holiday weeks) are historically the least crowded. If you can avoid the busy holiday weekends, this time of year typically sees some of the lowest crowds. January and February have the best weather.

Walking Distances at EPCOT EPCOT is more than two times the size of Magic Kingdom, coming in at 300 acres total. Just the walk around World Showcase alone is 1.2 miles. If you walk completely around Future World and World Showcase, you'll be at 3 miles easily.

Of course, with so much to ride, eat, see, and do, you could spend at least one full day at Epcot, and some guests staying for a week opt to visit more than once, coming back another afternoon to take advantage of the restaurants and entertainment.
