Is food included on Finnair?

On all our long-haul flights and in Business Class on our short-haul flights you'll receive a complimentary meal or snack with beverages, depending on the length of the flight. Every meal on our long-haul flights is crafted with great care, Nordic flavours and a destination-inspired twist.

The inclusion of food on Finnair depends heavily on the route and travel class. On long-haul flights (e.g., to Asia or North America), a complimentary hot meal and non-alcoholic beverages are provided to all passengers, including those in Economy. Business and Premium Economy guests receive elevated multi-course menus featuring "Nordic Kitchen" flavors and a wider selection of complimentary alcoholic drinks. However, on short-haul flights within Europe, Finnair typically operates a "buy-on-board" model for Economy Class. While water and signature blueberry juice remain complimentary, meals and snacks must be purchased or pre-ordered. Business Class on European routes still includes a full meal service. In 2026, Finnair has focused heavily on sustainability, often using locally sourced Finnish ingredients and reducing single-use plastics in their "Culinary Adventures Above the Clouds" program, making pre-ordering a popular choice for those wanting specific dietary options.
