Is gratuity included at Disney restaurants?

Are gratuities included with dining plans? A: No. Gratuities are not included, except at dinner shows and at Cinderella's Royal Table.

For the vast majority of Walt Disney World restaurants, gratuity is not included in the listed menu price. Guests are expected to pay a tip separately, with 18% and 20% being the standard suggestions provided on the receipt. This applies even if you are using a Disney Dining Plan; the plan covers the meal and a drink, but you must still provide a separate form of payment (credit card, MagicBand, or cash) for the tip. There are only two major exceptions where the tip is "built-in": Cinderella’s Royal Table and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. At these locations, the price you pay upfront includes both the meal and the gratuity. Additionally, an automatic 18% gratuity is added to the bill for parties of six or more at any table-service restaurant, regardless of how the check is split. It is also common for an automatic tip to be added for certain specialized dining events or when using specific discounts like Tables in Wonderland, so always check the bottom of your bill for a "service charge" line before adding an extra tip.

Typically 15% to 20% for Waiters/Waitresses/Servers. For off-site self-service buffets the tip is usually less than you would leave for a table service restaurant. 10% would be about right.

If you're a family of five, this means a five dollar tip for your housekeeper each day. You're supposed to leave the tip separately each day, rather than at the end of your stay, because there likely will be different people cleaning your room over the course of your visit.

For the most part, dress at the Walt Disney World restaurants is extremely casual. At Counter Service restaurants and the vast majority of Table Service restaurants (with exceptions that we'll discuss below), guests may wear whatever they would wear to tour the theme parks.
