Is Guardians of the Galaxy ride bad for motion sickness?

You don't get the typical bumps and jostling you might find on Big Thunder Mountain or other coasters, but the rest of the technology and elements of this ride can make riders queasy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster at EPCOT is notorious for causing significant motion sickness, even in people who are normally fine on traditional roller coasters. This is because the ride utilizes an "Omnicoaster" system where the ride vehicles rotate 360 degrees to point you toward specific screens and action while the train is moving at high speed. This disconnect between what your eyes see (rotating screens) and what your inner ear feels (high-speed lateral movement) is a major trigger for nausea and vertigo. Frequent riders report that Row 9 (the back row) is the worst for motion sickness because it experiences the most intense whip-action and rotation. If you are prone to queasiness, it is recommended to request Row 1 or 2, which provides a clearer view of the track ahead and reduces disorientation. Many guests find that taking an anti-nausea medication like Dramamine or wearing a "relief band" at least 30 minutes before riding makes the experience manageable. However, if you are highly sensitive to spinning or simulator-style movement, this may be one attraction to skip.

Which seats are the best? If you're concerned about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind being too intense, request one of the first two rows. That's the least thrilling and jarring. If you want the best seat from a storytelling perspective, anywhere in the middle is going to be ideal.

GOTG is an awesome ride and not as intense as RNRC; however, the spinning non-sense on GOTG makes me want to vomit. No other ride makes me feel that way. I love RNRC, but I need Dramamine to do GOTG.

Cosmic Rewind may be too scary for kids who do not like heights or the feeling of being far up. This one is a little harder to explain, but the coaster track has the vehicles flying through space, and you do feel like you are in a spaceship surrounded by the stars.
