Is Harry Potter World closing in Universal?

Potterheads, raise your wands in farewell — Universal Orlando Resort just announced the closure of a Wizarding World of Harry Potter staple. It's an exciting time for Universal Orlando. The Resort is currently building a third immersive Universal Park, Epic Universe.

No, there are no plans to close The Wizarding World of Harry Potter; in fact, the franchise is expanding. While individual attractions or shops (like Ollivanders or certain restaurants) may close briefly for routine maintenance or "refurbishment," the land itself remains the most popular draw for Universal Parks worldwide. Furthermore, a massive new expansion is centering around the franchise at Universal's newest theme park, Epic Universe, which features "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic." Rather than closing, Universal is doubling down on the brand with new ride technology and immersive environments that extend beyond the original Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
