While the Haunted Mansion features "ghosts and ghouls," it is not strictly a "Halloween" attraction; it is a year-round "high-value" tribute to the aesthetic of 19th-century gothic horror and Victorian spiritualism. However, at Disneyland (California) and Tokyo Disneyland, the ride undergoes a premier transformation every fall into "Haunted Mansion Holiday." From roughly September through early January, the mansion is completely re-themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, featuring Jack Skellington and a massive, real gingerbread house in the ballroom. Conversely, at Walt Disney World (Florida), the Mansion remains in its classic "999 Happy Haunts" state all year, making it a timeless, spooky staple that feels "at home" regardless of the season.
